Now in its eighth year, the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts will again host its annual Maynard Dixon Country 2006 Invitational Art Exhibition on Friday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 27, at Maynard Dixon Country in Mount Carmel, Kane County. (Invited artists will arrive on Wednesday to begin painting.)

Each summer, the foundation showcases the work of our country's finest contemporary artists who come to celebrate the rich landscape of Maynard Dixon country.

"It's a coming together of great artists to inspire each other and inspire future directions in art," said G. Russell Case, Brigham City artist and executive producer for Maynard Dixon Country.

The event features approximately 120 works of art by 45 artists, whose diversity of styles — from impressionism to realism to modernism — makes for great art.
