Not to be a language diehard, but whenever I see the words Emigration Canyon, I can't help but wonder how long the mistake must go on.

Emigration, in its true sense, would mean the canyon was used to leave the Salt Lake Valley. Immigration, the correct use, implies the canyon was a conduit into the valley.

Not that I'm splitting hairs, but which direction are you going?
