Darrel Kent Maynes 12/6/42 to 7/29/06 GRANITE, UT - Devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Darrel Kent Maynes, 63, returned along with his beloved sister-in-law, Linda Maynes, to be with his Heavenly Father, parents and brother, after an auto accident. Born Dec. 6, 1942 in Murray, Utah to Darrel Despain and Goldie Haun Maynes. He was a longtime resident of Granite. He graduated from Jordan High in 1961, and served in the Southwest Indian LDS Mission 1962-64. He graduated from Columbia College with a B.S. in business in 1997. He joined the Utah Air National Guard where he served for 33 years until he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1998. He was employed at Tim Dahle Nissan. He married Elizabeth Workman on July 11, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was known and loved by all. His integrity was unsurpassed, and his loving charity freely given. His hobbies included the outdoors, church callings, friends, marathoning, and fishing. He was an avid bow hunter, and treasured any activity which included spending time with his family. Survived by his wife, Beth; children, Tim (Cheri) Maynes, Tammra (Brennan) Gebhardt, Tina (Jscott) White, Jacob (Michell) Maynes, James Maynes, Trisha (Todd) Ussery, Tara (Charles) Burton, and John Maynes; grandchildren, Jade, Emma, Jessica, Roxanne, Brent, Chris, Trinity, Legacy, Alma, Haileigh, Sydnee, Gage, Gavin, Gunner, and Thomas; brothers, Donald (Linda) Maynes, David (Diana) Maynes, and Stanley (Delores) Maynes; sisters-in-law, Peggy Maynes and Judy Barney. Preceded in death by a brother, Alan Maynes. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at 12 noon at the Granite Ridge Ward, 9575 South 3100 East. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Friday 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Granite Cemetery.
