Donald Carl Hasty 2/15/1925 ~ 5/23/2006 Donald Carl Hasty, the son of Carl S and Nathelma L (Bluemel) Hasty, passed away May 23, 2006 in Fresno, California surrounded by family members. Don grew up in Ogden Utah, attending Ben Lomond High School and Weber State College. His youth was spent as a member of the LDS Ogden Eighth Ward. Career opportunities after World War II took him to California. While working for Bendex Aviation, for 10 years as a Junior Electronics Engineer, Don was forced into retirement due to an industrial accident, causing his paraplegic disability. Don resided in Oakhurst, California the last 33 years. Ideal for an avid outdoorsman and Life Member of the NRA. 1959, Don and wife Betty (Zanini) Hasty were married in Long Beach, California. A life long bond, sharing interests too numerous to name. Don is survived by wife Betty; two children, Gerald Hasty and Launa (Hasty) Droescher, from his previous marriage to Betty (Tillotson) Hasty, deceased; 12 grand and seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. Don made an indelible impact on all who know him. His passing brings sweet release from earths' woes. His presence among us is sorely missed. But we rejoice with him and his parents in their reunion. A memorial service will be held at the Lorin Farr LDS Chapel, 480 East Seventh Street in Ogden, across the street from the former family home. Time and date are this Thursday, August 3rd, starting at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Ogden City Cemetery at 4 p.m. on the same day.
