Your editorial opinion on youth suicide (July 27) and extreme use of antidepressants was right on the mark. You said, "In any case, it has nothing to do with where they spend their Sundays." On Sunday, there is the appearance of perfection.
What you failed to mention is that it is what happens from Monday through Saturday that matters. Self-righteous, pious people who wear their religion on their sleeve cause more emotional and spiritual harm than can be quantified. The spiritual contempt, bigoted behavior and discrimination against anyone not fitting into their majority box is the exact cause of most of the self-inflicted physical harm that happens in this state.
