PROVO — The Mountain Valley chapter of the American Red Cross has been awarded a $10,000 grant to support its health and safety services training programs in Utah County.
The grant comes from the Alcoa Foundation, the charitable arm of Alcoa, the Tennessee-based producer of aluminum.
With the funding, the Mountain Valley chapter will focus on its community first aid and safety courses, as well as its baby-sitting course for 11- to 15-year-olds. Both courses include certification in CPR and first aid.
Those interested in getting certified through the American Red Cross can call the Mountain Valley chapter at 373-8580 or visit www.redcrossut.org.
