Ah, summer. The Legislature is out of session, the governor is on vacation and all seems calm around the state capital. But when things seem quietest, we can always count on Chris Buttars to offer one of his famously illogical ideas. Every time he opens his mouth, as he has done with his latest comments on subjecting judges to political scrutiny, he reminds us all that anyone can be a legislator in Utah, no matter how little understanding one has of the U.S. Constitution. Yes, as long as Buttars is around, the national media will never run short of "crazy Utah politician" stories!
