Bertha Agren Hansen 1908 ~ 2006 Bertha Agren Hansen died Saturday, August 19, 2006, in Clearfield, Utah, at the age of 97 years. She was born 9 December 1908 in Harrisville, Utah, the daughter of Stephen Andrew Agren and Semantha Cornelia Shurtleff. Raised in Harrisville, she attended Weber High School, Weber College, and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1932. She then went to Iona, Idaho, where she taught school for many years, and where she met her husband-to-be, Harold LeRoy Hansen, whom she married 17 August 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was very active in the church and community, often involved in theater and musical productions. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, James E. Steel Camp. She is survived by her four sons: Harold (Margaret) of Kaysville; Steven (Sharon) of South Jordan; Charles (Suzann) of Mesa, Arizona; and Lynn (Marie) of Iona, Idaho. Also surviving are a sister and a brother, June Brown and Grant Agren. She is the grandmother of 27 and the great-grandmother of 82. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her sisters Eileen Pearce, Ruth Bowman, Phyllis Jessop, Fern, and brother Carl, also two great-grandchildren Marissa Hansen and Christopher Jensen. Funeral services will be Friday, August 25, 11:00 a.m., at the Kaysville 13th Ward, 845 East 200 North, Kaysville, Utah. Visitation will be from 9:30 -10:45 Friday morning. There will also be services at the Iona 1st Ward Iona, Idaho, Saturday, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Iona Cemetery Thank you to Rocky Mountain Care and Hospice of Clearfield for their care of mother these last eight months. Mother was community-minded and an educator. In lieu of flowers, we feel that she would prefer donations to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Independent Funeral Service.
