The Children's Health Insurance Program, provides for the health-care needs of many Utah children. But enrollment in this program will close on Sept. 1. Many children will go without medical care unless additional funds are immediately provided. I urge the governor and legislative leadership to consider calling a special session to make sure CHIP is funded without interruption.
