Dale Webb Black 1921 ~ 2006 Dale Webb Black, born October 3, 1921, in Twin Falls, Idaho, son of Henry J. and Elizabeth Webb Black, passed away August 21, 2006, in Salt Lake County, of natural causes. Dale graduated from Ben Lomond High, after which he attended Weber State College and the University of Utah. He served in the South Pacific in the United States Navy during World War II and later fulfilled an LDS mission to the Central States. He married Mary Camilla Olson Black, later divorced, and was married to Carma Davis Black. Dale was an active member of the LDS Church. His life-long passion for mathematics, physics, and chemistry began as a young boy and continued throughout his professional life as an engineer. His hobby was developing new chemical processes wherein he meticulously catalogued his experiments. His kind, gentle manner touched all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Carma of 30 years, his sisters, Pauline Cannon, Marjorie Smith, Joan Hancock, Jackie Frandsen and Kathryn Orton, his daughter, Marianne (Dale) Billeter; his sons, David (Dawne), Richard (Nancy); step children, Christina (John) Huish, Patricia (Cary) Wood, Deanne (Jeff) Mohamed, Sandra McCarthy, Paul Manwaring, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Steven, granddaughter, Alice Anne, his sister, Beatrice Dent, and step son, Howard Manwaring. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Emigration Stake Center, 589 18th Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call at the chapel commencing one hour prior to the service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. Directors Independent Funeral Service.
