Vivian Irene Griffin 1925 ~ 2006 Vivian Irene Griffin, our beloved sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully August 23, 2006. Vivian was born in Carmangay, Alberta Canada November 1, 1925 to Bessie Leona Nielson and Edward Hadden Griffin. She was the Seventh of eight children born to this union. She graduated from high school in Champion, Alberta, Canada in 1943. She received a Bachelors of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1958. Vivian completed her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah, and went on to have a successful career working for the LDS Social Services in the "Unwed Mother's Program" of the church. Her loving and compassionate heart helped facilitate many successful adoptions and she truly loved her work. Vivian served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Central States. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Ethel and Leona, her brothers, Leland, Walter and Robert. Vivian is survived by her sister, Yvonne Griffin of South Jordan, Utah and her brother, Francis Edward Griffin of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was truly happiest when she was around family and they loved her in return. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at. Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Chapel, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Champion City Cemetery, Champion, Alberta, Canada.
