OGDEN — A Utah State Prison inmate walked away from a work crew assignment at Weber State University on Monday night.

Scott Eugene Taylor, 34, was with a group of inmates working at the college and was not accounted for at 6 p.m., said Utah Department of Corrections spokesman Jack Ford.

Taylor has been in and out of prison for more than 10 years on various felony and misdemeanor offenses, including theft, burglary, attempted robbery and receiving stolen property. The Board of Pardons has scheduled an October 2007 termination of his current zero-to-five year sentence. However, Ford said, Taylor now faces felony escape charges.
