A man who ran inside an airplane at Airport No. 2 and wouldn't come out was in the Salt Lake County Jail Monday.
The man faces both possible state and federal charges after showing up at the airport, 7400 South and 4600 West, Saturday and Sunday.
The events began Saturday when an officer with the Airport Authority noticed a man acting suspiciously, said airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann.
"He was in places he had no reason to be," she said.
After interviewing the man, the officer found out he had warrants and took him to jail, Gann said.
The man was released, however, because of space restraints at the jail.
On Sunday, the same officer spotted the same man again and went to talk to him.
That's when the man ran into a nearby privately owned twin-engine aircraft and tried to barricade himself inside, Gann said.
The officer eventually managed to make his way inside the plane and take the man into custody.
Officials were still trying to determine Monday how the man got into an area where he could access the planes. He did not own a plane at the airport, Gann said.
Also still being investigated Monday was the man's intentions.
