JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A 28-year-old Utah man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man behind a grocery store.

Bail for Jason Coday was set at $1 million Saturday. He is accused of shooting Simone Kim, 26, of Anchorage, who was pronounced dead about an hour after suffering multiple wounds, police Capt. Jerry Nankervis said.

Police found Coday hiding in dense brush behind the store, Nankervis said.

He will appear in court Tuesday. First-degree murder in Alaska carries a possible sentence of 20 to 99 years in prison.

It was not immediately clear if the two men knew each other. A police dispatcher said no one was available to answer questions about the shooting Sunday, but a news conference was planned for today.
