FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Patrick Noonan's first goal of the season gave the Revolution a victory over New York.
Noonan converted a pass from Steve Ralston in the 8th minute, beating Red Bulls defender Carlos Mendes on a long run down the right side, then placing the shot past goalie Jon Conway into the top far corner.
Matt Reis made five saves for the Revolution (8-8-10) for his eighth shutout of the season.
FIRE 2, CREW 1: At Columbus, Ohio, Chicago's Nate Jaqua and C.J. Brown scored goals to beat the Crew.
Jaqua stepped into a low crossing pass from Justin Mapp and banked the ball off the inside of the right goalpost for his seventh goal of the year in the 40th minute.
The Fire (10-8-8) doubled their lead in first half stoppage time when Brown scored his first goal in 201 league games by getting his head on a looping pass from Chris Armas, deflecting the ball past Crew goalkeeper Bill Gaudette.
WIZARDS 4, RAPIDS 1: At Kansas City, Mo., Davy Arnaud scored two goals and the Wizards beat the Rapids.
The win helped Kansas City move seven points in front of New York for the fourth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
CHIVAS USA 1, FC DALLAS 1: At Carson, Calif., Juan Pablo Garcia scored in the 81st minute to lift Chivas USA to a 1-1 tie against FC Dallas.
