Michael Calder MacKay 1941 ~ 2006 Michael Calder MacKay, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away in his sleep free of pain and at peace Monday, September 4, 2006. Mike was born February 22, 1941, the last of 10 children born into the marriage of Roland C. MacKay and Esther Capson MacKay in Granger, UT. Mike was very artistically talented. From the time he put pencil to paper he could envision cars of the future. Those who have saved some of his drawings, paintings, sculptures or other art work can see his vision come to fruition. Over the years, Mike was in many clubs and organizations. Mike is survived by his two sons, Richard K. MacKay of Kearns, UT; and Robert R. MacKay (Cindy) of Jackson, MS; three grandsons, Robert Jr. of West Valley, UT; Jeremy Richins of West Valley, UT; and Alex of Jackson, MS; brother, Roland R. MacKay (Mary) of Tacoma, WA; and a sister, Louella MacKay Newbold (Harold) also of West Valley, UT. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Atkinson MacKay, parents, three brothers and four sisters. Services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
