Player of the game

Boston College DB DeJuan Tribble made big plays all day against BYU. He had one pick and broke up four other passes.

Play of the game

On the first play of the second overtime, Eagle wide receiver Tony Gonzalez made a move on Cougar cornerback Justin Robinson and caught a pass just over the goal line for a 25-yard touchdown, which turned out to be the game-winner.

Key call

BYU had the ball 1st-and-10 at the 14 in double overtime, trailing by a touchdown, when quarterback John Beck had his pass tipped. BC free safety Jaime Silva dove for the ball and appeared to make the catch. MWC officials initially ruled it incomplete, but after a review, determined that Silva indeed had made the catch. Game over.

Quotable

"It's kind of frustrating. Two weeks ago, it was the same thing. We had our opportunities to win." — Bryan Kehl, BYU linebacker
