The Contemporary Music Consortium will present its first concert under the leadership of new music director Russell Harlow today at 7:30 p.m. in the First Unitarian Church, 1300 East and 600 South. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

The program, which spotlights the clarinet, consists of Ingolf Dahl's Concerto a Tre, for clarinet, violin and cello; Karel Husa's "Evocation de Slovaquie," for clarinet, viola and cello; and Bohuslav Martinu's Serenade, for two clarinets and string trio.

Joining Harlow will be Utah Symphony principal second violin Dara Morales and symphony clarinetist Lee Livengood, along with violist Leslie Harlow and cellist Jesus Morales.

Russell Harlow and Dara and Jesus Morales have recently recorded the Dahl. They and the other musicians will return to the studio in March to record the other two works. The CD is expected to be ready when the Park City and Salt Lake City Music Festival kicks off its new season in July.
