Obituary: Wanda Adair Warner

Wanda Adair Warner

1916 ~ 2006

Our loving mother Wanda Adair Warner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, age 91, passed away September 25, 2007, of natural causes. Wanda was born July 31, 1916, in St. George UT, the daughter of William Bailey Adair and Nettie Hardy Adair. She married Earl E. "Happy" Warner Dec. 24, 1933, in Sandy, UT and in 1965 they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and g-gg. Mom will be greatly missed, but we will always love the memories of the good times we were able to share with her. She never lost her faith in God and this is the strength that kept her going.

Mom graduated from the first L.P.N. Nursing class at the old Salt Lake Community College and was president of the first Utah and National L.P.N. Assoc. and traveled throughout the United States. In her 26 years of nursing she worked in many hospitals and retired from Cottonwood Hospital at age 62.

Mother enjoyed all the times spent with dad, family and friends, fishing, camping, bowling, gardening and card games (which she usually won). She loved doing genealogy with her sister Virginia and serving in the Jordon River Temple as an ordinance worker for nine years. After dad died, mother traveled throughout the world with her cousin Bernice Hamilton, a past-time they both enjoyed. She kept an immaculate house, in which dust would not dare exist.

Mother was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, brother Harold and his wife Mickey, sister Virginia and her husband Max Pettey, one great-granddaughter, daughter-in-law Sharon and her loving companions Peppi, Missi, and Meagan.

We feel richly blessed to call this lady our mother. We love you mom.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the Wentworth Cottonwood Assisted living Center and their staff, and Sunbrook Hospice for their kind and loving care of our mother.

Funeral services will be held Tues. Oct, 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. Family and friends may call Mon. Oct. 1, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Online condolences at larkinmortuary.com
