Paul Bailey

1920 ~ 2007

Paul Bailey, 87, passed away Sept 28, 2007 at the home he loved. Born Sept. 20, 1920 in Moroni, Utah, a son of Russel and Ethel Story Bailey. Married Jewel Bruno June 17, 1948. Marriage later solemnized and family sealed together in the Manti LDS Temple. Served during World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard 1942 to 1946. Member of American Legion Moroni Post 107. Served in Moroni First Ward Elders Quorum Presidency, as Young Mens Secretary, Financial Clerk, Home Teacher and with his wife as missionaries in Moroni Stake Cannery. Helped organize and coach the first Little League Baseball in Moroni. Avid sports fan, loved to play all sports and always supported his family in their sports and activities. Enjoyed golfing with family and friends. Loved his family, and was very proud of each one.

Survived by six children, Paula (Mark) Jorgenson, David (Eddi) Bailey, Brent (Anita) Bailey, Alice (Dan) Sperry, Gay (Scott) Aagard, Bruce (Sheila) Bailey; twin sister Pauline R. Hafen; 24 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, grandson Jimmy Scott Bailey, sisters Louise Taylor, Geniel Bendixen, brothers Gayle, Earl and Glen.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at 12 noon in the Moroni LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and prior to Service from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Moroni City Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.
