LESTERVILLE, Mo. (AP) — A school bus carrying a high school volleyball team overturned Tuesday, and all 31 people aboard were taken to hospitals, officials said.
None of the injuries was life-threatening, authorities and hospital officials said. The bus was carrying students from Viburnum High School in southeast Missouri to nearby Lesterville.
A woman answering phones at the school Tuesday said the driver and passengers were taken to hospitals for treatment or evaluation.
Sgt. Marty Elmore of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the bus overturned around 4:45 p.m. in northern Reynolds County, about 90 miles southwest of St. Louis.
No other vehicles were involved.
Viburnum High School has about 220 students in grades 7-12.
Lesterville is 88 miles south of St. Louis.
