Two adults and a juvenile were arrested early Tuesday after Salt Lake City police discovered a window-smashing vandalism spree.
More than 20 car windows were shattered in the area between 300 East and 2100 East along 1700 South.
Investigators got a lucky break about 3:45 a.m. when an officer pulled over a vehicle that went through a stop sign, said Salt Lake City police detective Jeff Bedard. The officer found open containers of alcohol and marijuana inside the car, as well as shards of glass on the outside of the vehicle, he said.
Upon further investigation, officers found an aluminum baseball bat under the seat with glass lodged in the barrel, Bedard said.
The two men were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of vandalism and other charges while the third person was sent to juvenile detention.
