LaTella "Tella" Rowley Beveridge

1926 ~ 2007

LaTella "Tella" Rowley Beveridge passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, October 8, 2007. She was born in Salt Lake to Wilford Marion and Julia Irene

Hardy Rowley, July 30, 1926, the youngest of six children. She was married September 17, 1948, to LaMar Beveridge in Murray, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, November 17, 1950.

Tella was an active member of the LDS church. She served two missions, one to the Apia Samoa Mission with her sweetheart, and later to the

Chicago Illinois North Mission. She served in the Church Employment

Office, the Family History Center, and in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple Baptistery. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Manila Camp. She served in many ward callings as a teacher and as ward librarian. She was a faithful and loving visiting teacher who loved and touched the lives of many sisters over the years.

She taught elementary school in Pleasant Grove for 23 years at Grovecrest, Central and Valley View. She spent seven years as a teacher in the Clear Creek Outdoors Program. Science and nature were two of her special interests.

Her hobbies included gardening, animals, genealogy, walking,

camping, learning new things

(Spanish) and being with her family (her Wednesday morning pancake breakfasts with her grandsons).

She is survived by her children, Elaine (Val) Larson, Irene (Michael) Simons, Joyce (Stan) Boren, Kendall LaMar (Nancy) Beveridge, Donna (Sherman) Bond; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and her

sister, Larene Rowley Blaine. She was preceded in death by her

husband LaMar, four brothers, and one granddaughter (Jenny Simons).

Funeral services will be held Fri. October 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Manila First Ward Chapel, 3396 North 900 West, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
