Robert Ellis Clayton, born Oct. 24, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away of natural causes Oct. 7, 2007 at his home with his wife, Marilyn, by his side.His children are Carley Clayton of Mesquite, Nevada; Marilee Christensen of Idaho Falls; Rosalee Reagle of Idaho Falls; Robert Clayton of Rexburg, Idaho; and Bill Clayton of West Valley City. His brother is William Harlow Clayton of Midway.

Bob graduated from East High and the University of Utah. A World War II veteran, he served in the Marine Corps in Hawaii and China in radio intelligence. He was a member of the Tabernacle Choir in the 1950's, and was employed by Walker Bank and the Utah Housing Authority, as well as other banks in California, New Mexico, and Texas. A faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob served most recently as Bishop and High Councilor.

His beautiful tenor voice and silly humor will be missed for a long time to come.

Services will be Friday, Oct. 12 at noon in the Monument Park 14th Ward Chapel, 2255 So. Wasatch Drive in Salt Lake. A viewing will precede the service at 11:00.
