"Captain"

Bill A. Van Wagenen passed away suddenly, Oct. 14, 2007, at University of Utah Medical Center, following a stroke.He was born September 29, 1934, the son of Mabel and H. Chase Van Wagenen. He married his high school sweetheart, Deane Knebelau, Oct. 9, 1954. Together they raised four children of whom they are very proud. He retired in 1996 as a Captain and Division Commander

after 33 years with the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office. Bill was a graduate of South High School and Weber State University, (Criminal Justice). He had a long term affiliation with the U.S. Marshall's Service. Bill also served our country as a Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army.

Survived by his wife Deane; children, KayeLynn (Marc West),

Colette (Don) Hageman, Daren (Joni), and Farrel (Lora); grand-children, Jennifer (D.J.), Alex,

Megan, Lissa, Mandi, Michelle,

David, Olivia, Ava, and Paige; great-grandchildren, Dyson and Dara; brother, R. Keith; and precious pup, Herbie. Preceded in death by his parents and faithful dog, Ralph.

Memorial services will be held Thurs. October 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, where friends may call Wed. evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
