No police for Cullimore

It seems the astute mayor and City Council members of Cottonwood Heights are determined to spend $1.45 million of taxpayer money for Mayor Cullimore's personal police department. According to their hired expert's own admission. the only advantages to a local police department are patrol cars with the city's name on them and direct control of the police chief by the mayor.

The residents of Cottonwood Heights need to stand up to this misuse and waste of taxpayer money. In addition to the greater cost, we will lose the use of the sheriff's department special operations areas, such as K9, SWAT, homicide and CSI.

Only one resident will benefit from this change — the one getting his police force. Residents need to voice their opinion to the City Council today.
