Firefighter injured in condo fire

BRIAN HEAD, Iron County — A firefighter has been injured while battling a fire at a condominium in this southern Utah ski resort town.

Emergency dispatchers said the firefighter fell through the floor to his waist, injuring his leg.

"He sustained minor injuries," Brian Head Town Manager Bryce Haderly said today. "The firefighter walked out of the building on his own strength, but we sent him to the hospital for evaluation."

Haderly said the firefighter was in good spirits as he left and appeared to be OK.

The fire, which was isolated to one room, was quickly put out, Haderly said.
