Pearl Elizabeth Stocking Merrill

1916 ~ 2007

Pearl died peacefully at the age of 91 on October 13, 2007 in the home of her daughter, Lois

Upton-Rowley, in Redmond, Washington where she had lived since the death of her husband four years ago.

She was born April 11, 1916 in Starrhs Ferry just outside of Burley, Idaho to Joseph Horace Stocking and Martha Jane Butterfield Stocking. She was the youngest of five

children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gower Merrill and her three oldest siblings: Revie Stocking, Rulon Stocking, and Luella Court. She is survived by her older sister, Lucy Hayes, from Soda Springs, Idaho; and four daughters: Ann (Heber) Jones of Calgary,

Alberta, Canada; Vonda (Howard) Tagg of Lethbridge, Alberta,

Canada; Lois (Brian) Upton-Rowley of Redmond, Washington; and Deon (Don) Lewis of Redding, California; and 20 grandchildren and 43 great -grandchildren. Pearl has also lived in Ogden, Utah, Astoria, Oregon, Whittier, California and St George, Utah.

Funeral services will be held in the Thomas Chapel of The Church of

Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Blackfoot, Idaho, 1059 West 100 South at 1 p.m. on October 20th with a viewing at 12 noon for friends and family. Following the

funeral she will be buried beside her eternal companion in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Curnow Funeral Home in Sumner, Washington.
