Obituary: Daniel Davidse

Daniel Davidse

1921 ~ 2007

Las Vegas, Nevada. Loving husband, father, and "Opa". Dan died October 12, 2007 after a short illness from cancer to be with the Lord. He was born November 4, 1921 to Gerrit Davidse and Jacomina Midivaine in Grijpskerke, The Netherlands. He married the love of his life, Adriana (Ann) Davidse, June 24, 1942 and had three sons. She died in 1998. He served in the Dutch army from 1945-1946. In 1955, Dan emigrated with his family from Holland to Salt Lake City, UT and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1962. He retired from Eimco in 1983, where he worked as a machinist for almost 30 years. In 1997, he and Ann moved to Las Vegas to live out their final years close to their youngest grandchildren, Erik and Kylie Davidse. Dan was an avid, award-winning gardener.

His many bulbs, roses, and annuals were the envy of the neighborhood, especially his tulips.

He is survived by three sons; Gerrit (Jeany), St. Louis, MO; Larry (Janet), Modesto, CA; and David (Julie), Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marie, and his brothers, Johan and Gerrit. Preceded in death by his wife, parents and his brother, Wilhelm. Dan will be missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service and burial will take place Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City, Utah, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior. Online Condolences
