Obituary: Steven Alan Cardin

Steven Alan Cardin

1952 ~ 2007

Steve was born in Pensacola,Florida to George Cardin and Velda Nichols on February 25, 1952 and passed away quietly in his home Oct. 14, 2007 due to complications of recent surgery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; stepchildren Christopher

Osborn (Sherry) of Sandy, UT; and Catherine Angehrn (Jeff) of Kent, WA; two grandchildren, Kellie and Brandon. His mother, Velda Cardin, brothers George Cardin (Linda) and Douglas Cardin (Beverly) all also survive him in Florida. He has two daughters from his first marriage, Diana and Stephanie.

Steve was an entrepreneur beginning early in his life. He and his brother George founded Cardin Brothers in the early 70's in Florida, and then went on to work with Fluor Daniel Construction as a lead civil engineer on many large projects around the United States. He later formed a partnership with KBR

Systems here in Utah, of which he was both part owner and CEO.

Steve was a proud board member of the Utah Chapter of Safari Club International. He found good friends there who have always been very supportive, but especially during these last trying weeks.

Steve worked hard all his life and achieved a great many of his goals. He lived his life fully, the way he wanted, and always with great

gusto. He loved adventure and

always looked for a challenge, which he found often in hunting. He has hunted big game on five continents, including 12 different foreign countries and here in the United States. He had a great appreciation of fine dining, good wines and

especially enjoyed entertaining and cooking for his friends.

Steve will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, and we wish him a good journey in this next life.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held for him at his home on Sat. Oct. 20, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Steven's name to Safari Club International Foundation, 4800 W. Gates Pass Road, Tucson, AZ 85745. Online condolences at
