American Fork High School's marching band practices Monday for its planned performance at the upcoming Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 260-member band has been invited to play in the Nov. 22 celebration in New York City. American Fork High — which has won 15 of the past 20 state band championships — was originally invited to the parade in 2005. But that year the band received another invitation — to play at President Bush's inaugural parade. Because it would be too costly for band members to accept both invitations, they opted to play at the inauguration and asked Macy's for a rain check. This year, they're cashing in that rain check and working to raise $390,000 for the trip.
