Obituary: David Michael Lorensen

David Michael Lorensen

Brazil Richfield, Utah

David Michael Lorensen, 64, of Brazil and formerly of Richfield, Utah, passed away October 10, 2007, in Brazil. He was born October 20, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, to Boyd and Maxine Orrock Lorensen. He married Mary Otero on September 7, 1965, in the Manti LDS Temple.

Mike graduated from Richfield High School and was active in wrestling and tennis. Growing up in Richfield he loved hunting with his family and friends, inheriting the love of the sport from his dad. He graduated from BYU in Business Management. He served an LDS Mission in Brazil. He married his sweetheart, Mary, and had one beautiful daughter, Maria. His family was small but very precious to him. Mike worked for Shell Oil in Denver and Houston. After leaving Shell Oil he graduated from Chiropractic School in Kansas City to follow his dreams and have his own business. He practiced in San Antonio, Texas, until his recent retirement. He loved fishing, hunting and spent many hours fishing in the Gulf. After retirement he moved to Miami for a short period of time then on to Brazil.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, Brazil; daughter, Maria Lorensen, Miami, FL; and a brother, Ronald (Diane) Lorensen, Sandy; and mother, Maxine Lorensen, Richfield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Lorensen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 S. 100 W. in Richfield). Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
