Obituary: Linda Bailey Teames

Linda Bailey Teames

1945 ~ 2007

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Linda Bailey Teames, 61, passed away Friday October 19, in South Jordan, Utah surrounded by her family.

She was born November 6, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Orson Gunnell and Otella Zollinger Bailey. She married the love of her life, Charles Robert Teames November 2, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life and found great joy in serving others. She had a beautiful voice and was always willing to share her talent.

Linda's greatest joy was in caring and raising her seven children and she took great pride in their many accomplishments. She always considered Heather and Amy her "little angels."

All who knew Linda felt her love of the gospel and she used her love of music and her voice to express her testimony and her love of the Savior. Linda loved the arts and enjoyed attending the symphony, opera, and ballet. She taught her children a love of music and how it could enrich and bless their lives. She showed us how wonderful life could be. She always made everything so beautiful and was the perfect hostess and loved to entertain. She was truly "one classy lady!"

The family would like to thank the many ward members, care givers, volunteers, and friends who helped care for Linda. Your compassionate and selfless service has been a blessing and was greatly appreciated.

Linda is survived by her husband, Charlie, of 40 years; seven children, C Robert (Miriam), Angie (James) Hall, Monica (Sam) Garfield, Marleah (Shaun) Hansen, Heather, Amy, and Richard (Shauna). Linda has 11 grandchildren, Whitney, Jacob, Charles R III, Ben, Bailey, April, Lydia, Laura, Aleigha, Andrew, and Spencer. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Bailey; three sisters, Sharon Clawson, Bonnie Fisher, and Debbie Arrington; and brother, Greg. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gary.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday October 24, at 11 a.m., River Ridge 4th Ward, 1244 West Chavez Drive (9700 South). Friends may visit the family Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), and at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Estates.
