Why Turkey? Why now?

Over the centuries there have been hundreds of genocides. Democrats in Congress have introduced a resolution condemning Turkey for the 1894-96 and WWI massacres of Armenian Christians in the Ottoman Empire. No such resolution is in play for Russia's pogroms against the Jews as depicted in "Fiddler on the Roof," the Tutsi massacre in Rwanda or the current genocide in Darfur.

Why Turkey? Why now?

In response to the resolution, Ankara recalled its ambassador to Washington and Turkey amassed 60,000 troops on Iraq's border. Sad that so many congressmen would rather see America lose a war than see themselves lose an election.
