TreeUtah seeks help in planting seedlings

TreeUtah said Friday it will plant nearly 9,000 seedlings along the Jordan River this month to help restore a disturbed area.

The local nonprofit organization, which focuses on tree planting, stewardship and education, is looking for volunteers to plant willows, cottonwoods and other wetland shrubs along Willow Creek in South Jordan.

The stream has been rerouted to its original flow patterns and flows to the east of the Jordan River, just south of 10600 South. More information on volunteering and the project can be found on TreeUtah's Web site, www.treeutah.org, or by calling 801-364-2122.
