Obituary: JoyRae Sabey Bowman

JoyRae Sabey Bowman

1930 ~ 2007

JoyRae Sabey Bowman, 77, courageously returned into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on October 21, 2007, after an extended battle with illness. We were so lucky to have her at home with us for the last few years to enjoy her. She was able to spend many happy hours with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren. She was the oldest daughter of Roland Charles and Ruby Zelda Sabey. She was born on October 11, 1930 in Lehi, Utah. She married her eternal companion, James Melvin Bowman, on August 3, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Mel and Joy were the parents of three sons and two daughters.

She was a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father and unselfishly served in all the auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She cherished the 18 years spent as a temple worker in the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples. She was an avid genealogist, quilter and a member of the DUP.

Survivors include her husband; daughters; Linda Jo (Allen) Clegg, Pleasant Grove; Sharon (Alan) Hebbert, Brigham City; and daughter-in-law, Lynette (Warren) Huber; her only sister, Marlene (Val) Dearden, Henefer, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Randy Melvin Bowman, Brent Roland Bowman and Christopher Sabey Bowman.

The family would especially like to thank those who so lovingly cared for her through hospice. Thanks Paula, Whitney and Jason, you are truly angels.

There is not enough time or

paper to name the acts of service she performed for her family and countless others.

We love and will truly miss her!
