Here I come Nettie.

The best is yet to be!

Bob passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 22, 2007. He was born October 2nd, 1916 in Ogden, Utah to Ezra Taft and Burdette Clawson Benson. He married his eternal companion Nettie Taylor, September 2, 1939.

Bob graduated from West High School and the University of Utah with a degree in accounting. He served his Country for over 35 years in the U. S. Army both active and reserve, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was employed by International Harvester Company as Truck Distribution Supervisor.

Bob served faithfully in many church callings including Elders Quorum president, Bishop of the Parkview Ward, Salt Lake Temple worker and a member of the Stake High Council of the Salt Lake Granite Stake.

He is survived by his children (Kathy), Robert T. (Kay), John (Colleen) Benson, Mary (Glen) Bendixen, 23 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Bob has returned home to his parents, two brothers and sister as well as his loving wife Net, son Richard, and granddaughter Sandra who preceded him in death.

Thank you to all who have given dad such kind and loving care these past few months.

Funeral services will be held October 26, 2007 11 a.m. at the Fairmont Ward Chapel, 2465 S. 800 E., Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Thursday from 6-8 p.m., and at the chapel from 9:45- 10:45 prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
