Gibbs-Smith Publishing is teaming up with the Daxton Wilde Foundation and Patrick Wendel, a Boy Scout from Layton, for a fund-raising 5K and kids fun run on Saturday, 9 a.m., at Layton Commons Park.

The "RunWilde" race was developed by Wendel as his Eagle Scout project. Funds will be used to donate Daxton Wilde's book, "I'm a Superhero," to families who have children who are fighting cancer.

Registration is $15 (or $12 in advance) per person, or $30 per family. Fee for the kids race is $5 for youths 12 and under. Register at www.daxtonwilde.org or Striders Specialty Running, 1986 N. 400 West, Layton.
