Healthy juice purveyors from around the world will descend on Salt Lake this weekend.
More than 10,000 independent distributors of XanGo, juice from the mangosteen fruit, are planning to attend the company's annual convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The convention began Wednesday and runs through Saturday night.
Now in its fifth year, the company is planning to announce "some major initiatives" during its convention, chief marketing officer John Digles said. While he did not want to specify them until they are formally announced during the convention, he did say they would relate to their charitable efforts, marketing leadership and international expansion.
"Our convention is very reflective of the company culture," Digles said. "There is a lot of buzz, we have some major announcements, and distributors get a chance to meet with our top executives."
One of the announcements will focus on their charitable arm, XanGo Goodness, and will give the sellers of the juice a chance to be more involved.
"It will allow every distributor the chance to participate in helping children," he said.
The Lehi-based multilevel marketing company has distributors around the world, Digles said. The beverage is especially popular in the United States, Europe and Mexico.
Primarily, it sells one product, the XanGo juice. However, the company did release a new product that includes aloe and mangosteen, Xalo, in the European Union last month.
The convention is not all work, however. Tonight attendees will attend a "futuristic" dance party that reflects the convention theme of "Invasion."
Additionally, attendees will leave with a whole lot of goodies, according to Digles, that include clothing, bags and other promotional products.
"We have the best swag in the industry," he said. "It's a very exciting part of the convention experience."
XanGo is juice that purports to have "potent antioxidant properties." The company, which started in 2002, now includes an estimated 750,000 independent distributors throughout the world.
The company is headquartered in Lehi, where its campus includes three office buildings. It also has a large distribution center located at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.
