Layton — Halloween bash
LAYTON — Layton City Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Halloween bash, today from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Davis Junior High gym, 663 Church St.
Games and contests for the kids include cake walk, costume contest, bingo, pictures, inflatable toys and more. Free admission. Refreshments will be served.
West Point — Halloween carnival
WEST POINT — The city will host a Halloween carnival from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at West Point City Hall, 3200 W. 300 North.
There will be games, candy and prizes, and the public is invited.

Salt Lake City — "Boo at the Zoo"
Boo at the Zoo, a trick-or-treat event at Hogle Zoo, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Now in its 19th year, "Boo at the Zoo" has become a Utah tradition for trick-or-treaters under age 12. On this day, guests can bring their little goblins to the zoo and enjoy trick-or-treating, free with regular zoo admission or with a zoo membership. Guests can enjoy specials on gifts and food at the Zootique and The Beastro, as well as a spooky train ride on the Zoofari Express (weather permitting) and all the up-close animal presentations of "creepy crawly" animals.

Sandy — "Phobia Phreak-outs!"
SANDY — The Living Planet Aquarium will present "Phobia Phreak-outs!" at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The presentation will include facts about animal phobias and give the opportunity to "get close-up and personal" with some scary animals. Come early or stay later and catch the "Rainforest Rendezvous" presentation at noon and 4 p.m.
On Oct. 31, the aquarium will offer Halloween special activities from 3 to 7 p.m., including a scavenger hunt, prizes, treats, mysterious creatures of the deep movie and the "Phobia Phreak-outs" presentation at 4 p.m. Costumes are welcome.

West Jordan — Trunk or Treat
WEST JORDAN — West Jordan's annual Trunk or Treat is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday in Veterans Memorial Park, 1985 W. 7800 South.
The city is partnering with SaltLakeCityMommies.com to sponsor the event. Halloween activities begin at 3 p.m., with a costume contest scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The trunk or treating begins at 4 p.m.
Free games and refreshments will be provided, and attendees are asked to decorate the trunks of their cars and bring treats to share.

Salt Lake City — Monster Block Party
Salt Lake's Monster Block Party is a free, family-friendly Halloween party for Salt Lake City's goblins and ghouls of all ages, Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Gallivan Center downtown.
There will be trick-or-treating booths, a costume contest with prizes (kid, teen and adult divisions), souvenir photos, a kid's pumpkin decorating contest, arts and crafts projects, boo'natas (spooky pinatas) and more.

Most businesses between 850 and 1089 East on 900 South in Salt Lake City will be participating in trick-or-treating Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. Neighborhood businesses will be decorated and families are invited to the free event.
