Utah soccer team blown out by TCU

The University of Utah women's soccer team saw its chances for a Mountain West Conference title dim a bit Friday. The Utes lost for the first time in 14 matches, dropping a 3-0 road decision to TCU.

TCU (8-9-0, 3-3-0 MWC) scored three first-half goals en route to the victory. Utah (10-3-4, 2-1-2 MWC) suffered its first loss in conference play and its first loss since the third game of the season on Sept. 6. The shutout was the first time Utah has gone without scoring in back-to-back contests since the final two contests of the 2005 season.

Utah is back in action again Sunday at 1 p.m. against San Diego State. Four Ute seniors — Chelsea Card, Melissa Crespo, Kiley Jones and Paola Marsenaro — will be playing in their regular-season finale.
