Darrell Eugene McCombs, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on October 25, 2007.Darrell was born on June 21, 1943 in Salt Lake City. He is the son of Donald William and Mildred Alean (Boulton) McCombs. His childhood and youth were spent living in Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Bountiful Utah. A graduate of Bountiful High, Darrell attended the Salt Lake Technical College and Weber State University. He had a great love for music and freely offered his talent of playing the pedal steel guitar.

Darrell worked for the State of Utah for 37 years in the Highway Department, the Archives, and the Information Technology Services departments. He married Virginia Sue Simmons on June 1, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple. He actively served in many Church callings and was a Temple Worker and Family History Missionary at the time of his death.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Sue, his children, Rebecca (David) Loper, Peter (Jodi), Jennifer, David, Joseph, and Kristina, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the medical staff at Huntsman Clinic and Vista Care who have assisted in taking care of Darrell during his illness.

Funeral services for Darrell will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Mount Mahogany Stake Center Chapel, 1548 N. 900 W., Pleasant Grove, Utah. Friends and family may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to services at the Mount Mahogany Stake Center. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo, Utah. Funeral Directors- Warenski Funeral Home of American Fork, Utah.
