• The Dreaded Grove, Springville, Exit 261. Head west one block to the Camelot Forest, now through Nov. 3. Walk, ride or run through 66 haunted acres that include the Dreaded Grove (for 13-older), Spooky Woods (ages 3-12), Terror Tent featuring classic scary movies, bat flight zip line, a 40-foot death jump, Halo 3 tournaments with prizes, fortune tellers, haunted hayrides, food and haunted swamp rides on amphibious vehicles. Proceeds benefit the Rocky Mountain Candle Lighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. Cost: $16 for the grove/$5-$10 all other events. Bonfires and live entertainment, free. • Haunted Forest/Hollow and New Psycho Manor, 1100 S. 500 East, American Fork. Monday-Saturday through Oct. 31. Hours: weekdays 7:30-10 p.m.; Fridays and Saturday from 7:30 p.m.-midnight. • Museum Spooky Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon, Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27. Visit with wizards, witches and warty toads at the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. Cost: $6.50 adults/$7.50 children. Call 766-5013

• Hee Haw Farms and Corn Maze, 4500 W. 700 South. Take Pleasant Grove east Exit 275. Head west to 2000 West. Turn left. Follow the signs. Through Oct. 31, hours: Monday-Thursday 4-10 p.m.; Friday, 4-11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; fall break (Oct. 11, 12 and 15), 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. This year's 9-acre corn maze and theme is "Celebrating Our Heritage." Activities include an animal train, a corn cannon, the pumpkin patch, racing pedal cars, a hay wagon, animal alley, rubber ducky and piglet races. • "Shadowbrook Mansion"/"Hotel Frankenstein" playing alternate nights through Oct. 26/30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Valley Center Playhouse, 780 N. 200 East, Lindon. This is the 25th anniversary of these Halloween favorites. Cost: $6/$5 students, children and seniors; $25 per family. Call 785-1186.

• The Legend of Sleepy Hallow in Concert, Oct. 10-13 at 8 p.m., American Fork Amphitheater, 851 E. 700 North. The third annual production features live song performances accompanied by a live chamber orchestra and an appearance by the Headless Horseman. Cost: $7/$6 students, seniors/$30 family, up to 6. • Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point, Oct. 11, 12, 13 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Electric Park. Cost: $5 adults, $7 per child (ages 3-5), $12 per child (ages 6-18). Proceeds will benefit the West Ridge Academy. Call 768-2300.

• Barnyard Boo, Oct. 16, 20, 22, 26, 27, 29, 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in Farm Country. Cost: $5 per person.

• Fall Hayride at Southridge Farms through Oct. 31, 300 W. 900 South, Santaquin. Hours: Monday and Friday from 3:30-7 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. School break hours the same as Saturday. Rides every 15 minutes. Other times available by appointment. Cost: $2/$1.50 children 10-under. Call 754-5511.

• Haunted Canyon Ghost Train, Oct. 6 at 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.; Oct. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, 29, 30 at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.; Oct. 18, 25, 31 at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Cost: $16 adults/$8 children for 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. departures; $14 adults; $6 children for 9:30 p.m. departures. • Second annual In the Dark in Spanish Fark Spook Alley, Oct. 11-27 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) from 7-9:30 p.m. Thursday and from 7 p.m. until the lines end on the weekend. In the Dark offers 14 scary rooms of various themes and a 100-foot maze corridor. There's sure to be a room that fits your pleasure, like the creepy crawly tomb, the haunted cemetery or the witch's den. Cost: $8 in advance at the city office, $9 at the door ($1 off with student ID). Groups of 20 or more may receive a discount of $7.50 per ticket but arrangements must be made by calling 798-5000, ext. 57. Note: There is not a kids event this year. The spook alley is not for young children.

• Halloween Adventure Cruise, Oct. 5-31, 6:30-9 p.m. weekdays; 6:30-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Ride the riverboat on the lower Provo River. A hayride on water with more than 100 pumpkins reflecting off the water. Enjoy scary stories and songs. A pirate even attacks the boat and ends up handing out candy. Excursion boats accommodate up to 40 people each. Board at CLAS Ropes Course, 3606 W. Center, Provo. Dress for the weather. Cost: $5/$20 family. Call 373-8897.

• West Ridge Academy's Scarecrow Festival, Oct. 11-15 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. Cost: $5 adults/$12 for 6-18 years/$7 for 2-5 years. Includes performing groups, basketball tournament, country craft store, food, inflatables, train and wagon rides, petting zoo, pony rides, children's haunted house and spider speedway. • Tricks and Treats Halloween Carnival, Oct. 25 and 26 from 7-9 p.m. at The Center, 222 W. 500 North, Provo. Cost: $2/$8 per family. Children 3-under free. Activities include arts and crafts, entertainment, a magic show, haunted house, food and face painting. Call 852-7635.

• 16th annual Halloween Fun Run 5K to benefit the American Cancer Society, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m., American Fork Fitness Center, 454 N. Center.
