Rilla Lucille Brocious

1917 ~ 2007

Rilla Lucille Young Brocious, age 90, passed away October 4, 2007 in Orem, Utah. She was born April 26, 1917 to Russell and Vista Viola Young in Ringgold, PA. Lucille grew up working on her father's farm with her brothers and sisters, Clair Young, Grace Milliron, Bill Young (D), Dauphine Young (D), Josephine Baggs (D), Helen Harper (D), and Lewis Young (D). She married Emerson Lee Brocious, June 11, 1937. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple, May 3, 1963.

In 1972 following the death of her husband, Lucille moved from Pennsylvania to Utah to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She worked until the age of retirement at the Utah State Development Center for the physically and mentally handicapped. She was involved for many years with the American Fork Senior Citizens. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lucille's quiet disposition and ability to love unconditionally were her greatest gifts. She delighted in her grandchildren, painting, crocheting and gardening.

Lucille is survived by her son, Roger Vinson Brocious; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services with be held Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 7:30 p.m. at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East American Fork, UT. Friends and family may call that same evening one hour prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the St. James Cemetery in Ringgold, PA.

Friends and family may call Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. to the Alcorn Funeral Home, Brookville Street, Hawthorne, PA. Graveside services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
