Marjorie died September 30, 2007 in Salt Lake City. She knitted scarves for the Navy and folded bandages for the Red Cross during World War I. At the McCune School, Marjorie studied piano which she continued to play until shortly before her death.

After graduating from the University of Utah, she taught at Jefferson School for three years. In 1931, she married Joseph Severn Jones in the Salt Lake Temple. They were members of The Alta Club, the Ensign Club, and the Salt Lake Country Club. She was active in the Pi Beta Phi sorority, Relief Society, DUP, DAR, and the Utah Symphony Guild. She especially enjoyed giving treats to children.
