BYU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes will interview at the University of Colorado this weekend, according to BYU football sports information director Jeff Reynolds.
Grimes, who has spent the last four seasons with the Cougars after leaving Arizona State, will inspect a job opening with the Buffaloes and his former boss, Dan Hawkins, whom he coached with at Boise State in 2000.
Grimes left Arizona State for BYU four years ago for what he called a "family friendly" atmosphere in a coaching experience. His decision came while at ASU after he was required to leave for a recruiting trip when his wife, Sheri, was experiencing a traumatic medical situation.
The CU offensive line job opened up after Chris Strausser decided to return to Boise State after the 2006 season in Boulder. Grimes is expected to weigh CU's offer and return to BYU and make a decision. A factor in BYU's favor could be the potential for producing multiple NFL players from the current crop of Cougar linemen, including senior center Sete Aulai.
