Utah Food Bank Services has teamed up with Liberty Tax Service to help people save money on their tax preparation while collecting food for the hungry.

For every can of food donated at the two Liberty Tax Service locations, customers can receive 1 percent off their tax-preparation fees. Up to 50 cans of food can be donated.

Last year, Utah Food Bank Services provided 18 million pounds of food to more than 240 statewide agencies and programs. That is about 9 million meals for the 1.2 million requests for emergency food assistance, from families and people in need, received each year.

Utah Food Bank Services operates 20 Kids Cafe sites, the 211 information and referral program, and various projects that provide service to people with low incomes, the elderly and people with disabilities.

The two Liberty Tax Service branches are located at 1572 W. 7800 South in West Jordan and 7045 S. State in Midvale.
