DRAPER — A motorcyclist was killed late Wednesday after colliding with a van that was allegedly traveling without any lights on.

Randolph Andersen, 59, was turning left at 11800 South and State Street just before 11 p.m. when he hit the van, according to Draper City police. His motorcycle careened out of control and hit the curb and exploded into flames.

A witness saw what happened and pulled Andersen from the burning wreck. It appeared he was already dead. No one in the van was hurt.

Police say he was wearing a helmet and protective gear. The accident remains under investigation while police determine whether charges will be filed against the driver of the van.
