Ron Paxton thinks liberals "despise the military and military service" and "children raised in right to far-right homes honor the military and view military service as a duty and a privilege" (Readers' Forum, Feb. 17). How does that account for the fact that Utah, the most far right of the states, ranks 47th in voluntary enlistments among eligible young people (source: National Priorities Project)?
If Paxton were correct, Utah would rank first, wouldn't we?
There are nearly as many Democratic veterans in Congress as Republicans. You can look it up.
