Salt Lake-based digital hearing-aid maker Sonic Innovations Inc. said Wednesday it has sold its auditory testing equipment division, Tympany Inc., to a private third party, Tympany Holdings LLC.
Sonic said it expects to recognize "a small gain" on the sale. Terms were not disclosed.
Sonic acquired Tympany in December 2004. Tympany develops, manufactures and sells the Otogram, a proprietary, automated diagnostic hearing testing device. Tympany had losses of $2.2 million in 2006 and $12.7 million in 2005.
